Depression and lack of energy

Your lack of energy could be the result of multiple things – you stayed up too late with friends during the weekend, you woke up too early this morning to exercise, you haven’t been eating enough or you’ve been eating too much. However, if your decrease in energy seems to be for no apparent reason, it is possible it could be a sign of depression.

According to the Mayo Clinic, some of the symptoms of depression include feelings of sadness, irritability and frustration, restlessness, trouble concentrating, insomnia or excessive sleeping, fatigue and loss of energy. If you might be experiencing depression, it is a good idea to consult a physician to get a professional opinion on treatment.

However, there are a few things you can do to naturally fight fatigue and depression. Everyday Health suggests having good sleeping habits and avoiding oversleeping. Drinking lots of water and avoiding caffeine and alcohol can also help. Eating foods that support a well-balanced diet and promote energy can help, like whole-grains and lean protein.

You may also find a supplement from Dr. Newton’s Naturals to be helpful in increasing energy and therefore easing feelings of depression. Natural Energy provides the necessary nutrients for the body to produce its own energy. It contains only vitamins and minerals that are water-soluble, allowing the body to use what it needs with no harmful side effects.
