CalMax® Sport

(4 customer reviews)

Quite simply, athletes need more nutrients than less-active people. They demand more from their bodies and so must compensate with the right nutrients from foods or supplements to keep performance—and recovery—at its peak. Calcium is well known as the most important nutrient for an athlete.

Did you know that magnesium is also important to athletes? New research suggests that even small shortfalls in magnesium intake can greatly inhibit athletic performance. Magnesium plays a number of roles in the body, including those involved in the synthesis of fat, protein and nucleic acids, neurological activity, muscular contraction and relaxation, cardiac activity and bone metabolism and 325 enzymatic reactions.

CalMax® Sport is a high quality calcium, magnesium and vitamin C powder with the 1:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium. Each serving of CalMax® Sport provides:

  • 300 mg of calcium
  • 300 mg of magnesium
  • 250 mg of vitamin C.

I have been using Calmax for three decades. I am using it to help relax and have found it also helps relieve discomfort. I take it at night in tea and it helps me fall asleep as well.

  2. John

Seems to be a good product.

  3. Angela H.

    Wonderful!

  4. Meg

I had a lot of cramping problems and the CalMax supplement solved my problems. I am a triathlete so I give my muscles a lot of stress in a short period of time. I have been using the regular CalMax and have decided to switch to the CalMax sport. I hope it works even better.

Product Description

In a survey of more than 10,000 male and female athletes ages 7 to 50, fewer than half consumed 1,000 mg of calcium daily. The recommended dietary intake ranges from 1,000 to 1,500 mg per day depending on age and gender. All athletes should make sure they get 1,200 to 1,500 mg of calcium daily from food or supplements.

Dietary intake of magnesium in the United States has been declining over the last 100 years from about 500mg per day to 175-225mg per day. American researchers found that more than 60% of US adults were failing to meet the previous (lower) RDA for magnesium. Even athletes, who might be expected to take greater care with their diets, are not immune from magnesium deficiency. In a recent study researchers found that a magnesium deficiency reduced metabolic efficiency, increasing the oxygen consumption and heart rate required to perform work – exactly what an athlete doesn’t want!

Your body depends on calcium and CalMax® Sport is an easy, convenient, and tasty way to help your body get it. CalMax® Sport is our original calcium, magnesium and vitamin C powder with the 1:1 ratio of calcium. Each serving provides 300 mg of calcium, 300 mg of magnesium, and 250 mg of vitamin C.
