Studies suggest that vaccines do not cause infection or allergic reactions in children

The safety of vaccinations for children is often questioned. Many believe that vaccinations are responsible for an increase of infections and allergic reactions in children. Recent studies suggest these worries hold little merit.

According to a study published in Deutcshes Arztblatt International, there is no evidence to suggest that vaccinations are harmful to children. The study showed that allergies and infections such as bronchitis, eczema, colds and gastrointestinal infections were no more frequent in vaccinated children than they were in unvaccinated children.

As expected, the only difference between the two groups was a higher frequency of vaccine-preventable illnesses such as pertussis, mumps and measles in unvaccinated children.

Whether they are vaccinated or not, children should take a children’s multivitamin to ensure adequate nutrition and improve immune function.
