Researchers at Northumbria University have conducted a study which suggests that multivitamins may be beneficial for physical and mental health in people of all ages.
Study authors noted that previous studies focused on the effects of multivitamins on seniors. Participants in this study were all males between the ages of 30 and 55.
In a placebo-controlled study, researchers gave half of the 215 participants a capsule containing vitamins B and C. The participants were given questionnaires about mood and energy levels and cognitive tests before and after the month-long trial.
Researchers found that while the placebo group experienced no changes, individuals taking multivitamins significantly improved cognitive abilities and reported better mood and mental clarity.
“Overall, these results suggest that improving nutritional status, by supplementation if necessary, may be beneficial to males within the general population,” said Professor David Kennedy, the study’s lead author.
Results of the study support previous assertions that daily intake of multivitamins – like those offered by Dr. Newton’s Naturals – may improve overall health.
Vital B-100 by Dr. Newton’s Naturals contains essential B vitamins, 166 percent of the daily recommended value of vitamin C and antioxidants like vitamin E.
