According to research published in the British Medical Journal, a good night’s rest may be the secret to looking attractive and healthy, lending credence to the concept of beauty sleep.
Researchers wanted to examine the relationship between sleep and how it affected others’ perceptions of beauty and health in a given subject. The number of people with sleep troubles is steadily rising, so the experiment is particularly pertinent right now.
23 participants took part in the study. Researchers took two photos of each subject – once after having a normal night’s sleep and again when they were deprived from rest. Observers were brought in, having not been informed as to a given subject’s sleep status, and were asked to gauge the relative attractiveness and perceived health of participants. Results showed that those who had not slept were consistently said to look less attractive and unhealthier.
Those who are interested in getting a good night’s sleep may want to consider taking dietary supplements like those offered by Dr. Newton’s Naturals.
