Nutrina's Odorless Garlic has been called Nectar of the Gods, and for good reason. Among many positive effects it can help maintain healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels that are already within the normal range.* The active ingredient of Nutrina's Odorless Garlic is allicin. The capsules contains a buffered, allicin-rich garlic with no after odor or taste.
One bottle contains 90 capsules. Each capsule provides the equivalent of 1,200 mg fresh garlic bulb.
About Garlic
Garlic, Allium sativum, is a member of the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae), which also includes leeks, onions, and shallots. The pungent flavor of garlic is caused by a chemical reaction that occurs when the garlic cells are broken. The flavor is most intense shortly after cutting or chopping. This chemical reaction cannot occur after garlic is cooked, which is why roasted garlic is sweet rather than pungent.
Powerful Antioxidant
This very versatile herb also has antioxidant properties. The sulfhydryl (sulfur and hydrogen) compounds in garlic help support your body's natural detoxification processes.* These same compounds are effective protectants against oxidation and free radicals.*
Garlic also aids in the detoxification of peroxides such as hydrogen peroxide and helps to prevent fats from being oxidized and deposited in tissues and arteries. Garlic also contains antioxidant nutrients such as vitamins A and C and selenium.
Respiratory Health
For thousands of years, garlic has been used as “nature's immune support.” The Chinese and Ancient Greeks used the herb to maintain overall health.* Today, garlic is considered an all-around helpful herb because of its beneficial effects on the entire immune system.*
Allicin
Garlic contains many chemical constituents. Enzymes, amino acids, trace minerals, flavonoids, and at least 150 additional compounds have been isolated. The most active and important compounds, however, are the sulfurs. Found rarely in other plants, these compounds are largely responsible for garlic's immune system supportive and antioxidant properties.* Of particular importance is the naturally occurring allicin, as it is present in about 80% of the sulfur compounds found in garlic. When garlic is crushed, allicin is allowed to interact with the enzyme allinase, thus producing garlic's prime health promoting substance, the oily liquid allicin.*
Garlic Benefits
Among the many positive effects the herb has on the body, garlic exerts a detoxifying influence by cleansing the kidneys and increasing urine flow.* Further, it has been extremely helpful in supporting healthy respiratory function.* It is also an immune system supporter.* Because of its popularity in Mediterranean countries where people have excellent heart health, researchers are now even exploring its potential to support cardiovascular health.*
Circulatory Health*
There are many well designed studies published around the world that confirm that garlic in several forms can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range.*. In one test, this maintenance effect was evident after only 4 weeks treatment. In another study conducted in Germany, 261 patients from 30 general practices were given either garlic powder tablets or a placebo. After a 12 week period heart health parameters were significantly improved in the garlic treated group.*
Garlic contains so many healthful properties that increasing numbers of scientific studies have been initiated each year on the herb.* What has already been demonstrated for thousands of years is that garlic is one of the world's most vital herbal supplements.*
Some of these benefits have been established by research, others have been known for ages by ordinary people.
